two days ago kourtney and i went to les halled de lyon. this is a super fancy indoor market that katie went to last year when we were here and bought some delicious cheese on a stick. the market is in the part dieu district of lyon (see this) and to get there we took metro D then B. above, i am pictured sampling a foie gras tarte with glazed apples on top.
voila :

it was purchased for three euros at this humble foie gras vendor :

foie gras is grossly overfed goose liver. but it looks pretty here :

les halles de lyon also sold regular things like bread :

…and massive artichokes :

…and white asparagus :

…and veggies :

…and charcuterie :

…and cheese (amazing looking cheese) :

…and more cheese :

…and dead things :

if you’ve got a sweet tooth, les halles might also be the place for you :

yum, fruits confit! :

a whole big mess of macaroons :

kourtney and i found the most delicious chocolate ever - chocolate with sel de mer (sea salt) :

kourtney is shocked with deliciousness :

then i bought this fucking awesome apple tarte :

i was blissful :

i’m a sucker for tarts. like these :

and check out these bonbons filled with booze :

and these yummy fruity chocolate chunks ”

we also saw this uber fancy japanesey sushi looking chocolate :

and check out this amazing paella! i thought i would wait til spain to eat paella, but this looked hella cool :

we ended the morn with a yummy cup of peruvian java :

thanks, les halles!!!!!

Wish I was there - food looks amazing - but your tart prbably tastes better and looks as good! We never had time to see any of Lyon other than close to our hotel - we were too busy visiting the chateau where the wedding was to be held. others in our group did see Lyon and loved it! We’ll just have to go back…..
Love,
AJ

Oh my god, I have to go to France now.
