i came back to lyon just in time to partake in this crazy electro music festival called les nuits sonores. it basically takes over the whole city and turns everything into a techno party. above is a picture of the street in front of alexandre’s apartment.

riff-raff on the street. for the entire weekend the city was full of drugged-out teenagers.
why would you bring your baby to this? the music was so ungodly loud.
toward the end of the street party, we ventured into the crowd - inspired by a few bottles of leffe beer. piles of drunk frenchies.

it was actually kind of cool to experience, though. a few nights before, we took a (really long and arduous) bus ride to a huge free party (read : rave) in the middle of nowhere. it was intense. but apparently the best parties you have to pay for (i.e. miss kitten played one venue).
