information design hacks

Friday, September 4th, 2009

just saw this post on urbanprankster.com (via boing boing today that showcased some awesome street sign hackage from L.A. and New Haven, CT. it made me think of the amazing TED Talk by Stefan Sagmeister about “happy design.”

the entire talk is amazing and totally worth listening too, but at around 8:00 he talks about a project by NYC artist “True” in which he replace standard MTA information stickers with life advice. check it out :

two guys asleep on the train

i snapped this photo with my cam phone last week on the A train on the way home in the middle of the night. i don’t know who these two guys were, or what their relationship was, but it was really beautiful to watch them sleep. and to watch no one else around seem to care.
